I realized it's mid-march and there are only 2 posts. Not trying to sound super cool, but I've beeen too busy for this blog.
....confession, I was trying to sound super cool. Hey, it happens. And I fail every time :)
Work has been sucking me in earlier than normal, then spitting me later than I'd like. Which I wouldn't really mind if I was in a healthy work environment. I know it's super cliche to hate your boss, but really- mine is just a bad
person. He admitted that he was the bully/jock in school, constantly reminds how many women find him attractive, updates me on what is going on in his tainted world of facebook,
and is probly cheating on his wife. He rarely gives me feedback on my actual job performance, but instead critiques me on my interaction with the male clients, berating me when Joey happens to get brought up in conversation because I need to keep the "mystery". He jokes about giving my number to a (tool) soap star that comes in, nods at me while talking to clients saying "she's not bad, huh?". It's just not good, so naturally I come home bummed/angry. It's a super small office, and the other guy is about like Dwight from the Office, only overweight, twice his age, and not nearly as funny. So I have no one to relate to. *sigh* But it's only temporary, so that's what keeps me going. Poor me-(cue violin please) haha.
I've put up a wall, and try not to let them get me up or down. I know who I am, what I like and don't like, and won't let them try to change that.
Moving on. Believe it or not, life isn't so bad. :) I had my evaluation with FIT, which couldn't have gone better. Mmmmhmmm. My portfolio came out pretty freakin' awesome, so I felt pretty confident going in. They were really impressed with a few shots, and seemed to like me. But then again, you never know. We shall see...
This past weekend I dogsat for this super posh millionare family. (Seriously, these people sold there house to Bon Jovi a year ago.) They own this 3,000 square foot mansion in Noho fully decked out with an open terrace that is probly 200 feet long/ 30 feet wide, windows that go from the ceiling to the floor, and decorated down to a science. They left me this bottle of fancy French wine, bubble bath stuff, and food like you wouldn't believe. I felt like a princess...and laughed that I was getting paid for it.
Saturday night, I went out for my friend Freddy's birthday which was a blaaaaast. I just realized I was living life like a gypsy this weekend. On Friday I left the apartment for work at 9'ish, and did not return until 4 AM Sunday morning. (There's a point in telling you this) I had this Northface backpack that went with me everywhere. When I was catching a cab Saturday night to go to the party, the cab driver slowed down with his window cracked asking where I was headed in a sketchy manner, like I looked like a hitch hiker in heels ready to steal his soul. As I arrived to the bar, I hopped out of the yellow van looking either like a high schooler or a unibomber
(let's hope unibomber) ready to have fuuun. The night was filled with me and Freddy assaulting everyone's ears by requesting Celine Dion and Gloria Estefan on the juke box and more importantly participating in a hilarious roast to Freddy.
As always, pure silliness.
Joey is back in Louisiana all week, enjoying puppies, food that would make me die, and the 225 peeps.
Toodles Schmoodles!
