Let 2009 begin!

Happy New Year!

I'll post some pictures from last night as soon as I get them from Blaine. By the way, it was sooooooooooooooo cold last night. It was 19 degrees with a wind chill of 2. Sweet Jesus, I've never felt that kind of cold in my life. After we left the party it was especially brutal trying to get a cab. :(

Meanwhile, I'll make this a "Delayed Christmas Eve" post. My Aunt Yvonne and Uncle Johnny have their annual party over at their house.

Aunt Yvonne, I hope you are utilizing the bookmark of my blog that I put on your computer. Ola Mae (hehe), I sure hope Uncle Louis helped you find your way. And don't worry, you can now scroll through the pages at your own pace. :)

Anywho, here are the delayed pictures.

Santa makes a stop every year.

Alli and Julien....who is sooooo beautiful and sweet!

My cousin David's girls and my cousin Courtney's boys with their grandma (my Aunt Eunice). Those kids are all so sweet and pretty. It's disgusting.

A group shot after all of the kiddies went home to wait for Santa. Someone should have held a sign stating an elementary class/year since it looks like a class picture.

We were having issues with Mitzi's, well, um...okay. Debbie said Mitzi's ta ta's blocked her face in the other picture. So Mitzi was trying to reign control. Hahaha.

These pictures were from the end of the night. After everyone leaves, it quickly divides into a girls vs. boys room. Totally Junior high style.

Aunt Yvonne with her glass that lights up, so she'll always be able to find it at the party.

Back in tha' 212

That post from Joey was written in the airport while we were waiting for our delayed plane to arrive.

This is us when we found out we would have to wait 4 hours until take off. ;)

Then our anger morphed us into scary beings....ahhh.

So we were supposed to leave at 2:05, but instead left at around 4:30. Once we got on the plane, things did not get much better. I was sitting directly in front of Niki. Have you all heard about Niki? I hadn't either until yesterday, but soon discovered he is the most annoying child to ever grace this little planet called Earth. He kicked my seat for the entire flight while screaming about how he wanted to watch Pokeman: *Kick* *I want to watch Pokeman....now!!!* *Kick, kick!* Then the oblivious parents were calm as molasses in their own world. I then tried to go to sleep by resting my head on the tray in front of me, which worked for a little while. After I drowned out the 2 waaay too loud middle aged men two rows behind me and little Niki I fell asleep. zzzzzz. Then, bam! The guy in front of me reclined his seat and almost snapped my neck. So back to sitting up and the *kick, pokeman, kick* routine...

Needless to say we are back! It's currently 27 degrees with a chance of snow. Tonight we are going to a New Year's Eve party in midtown that is thrown by theatre geeks with an open bar and rooftop access. Should be fun.

I have a lot of stuff to write about/pictures to post. So my head is kind of spinning right now. I'll take my time and post a little at a time.

I got 2 new portfolio pictures while I was home:

And here is a cool shot of me and Alli lounging in her room.

Try and figure out how I took these...

Every night I was home I slept in Alli's room and watched old VHS movies that we watched when we were kids (like Duck Tales!). Here I am with Alli's favorite stuffed animal, Harston, hehe.

Well, more to come soon. Stay tuned.

This is the best candy ever!!!!
Mike and Ike's Tangy Twister is for lovers of bold taste and bold personalities.

In other news, we are headed back to the 212 from the 225 and the 504. Also a little bit of the 337. I've been harassed and chastised and threatened enough times to post so I figure I'll just get it over with. Back in BR I managed to see my nephew and niece for a good portion of the trip. Here is a picture of me teaching them to introduce themselves:

Buster (the retriever) has always been the sweetest boy in the world, but Layla sure made a case for herself the last week. She listened very well when we were training her to roll over and play dead at the sound of a gun shot.

I went to the Saints game this past weekend against the Panthers. What a second half! What looked like a blow out early on turned into a real good game all the way up until we took the lead. But of course, like always, our pass defense is crap and there's no way we can hold it. Here's an idea: fire Sean Payton! Pictures to follow...

Christmas in da' Quarter

Yesterday, Joey came in for the day! We went down to the French Quarter for a fun day, yippee! We walked down Royal St. and wandered into random galleries and stores, ate at Mesparo's and Cafe' du Monde, and went to the Christmas concert at the St. Louis Cathedral.

This store had so many cool little figurines. They also had antique swords, guns, and flags that were either Nazi or Confederate themed...

This Vintage Collectibles store had signed guitars from Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones, Elvis, etc. ranging from $2,000 up to$90,000! Quite crazy...

Here's Famous Door, one of the oldest Bourbon St. bars...

Nice sign, hehe.

This one puzzled us. Female impersonators? What exaclty does that entail? I don't think I want to know...but then again, seeing is believing.

Stoic and sassy Joey.

Underneath the Cajun Swamp sign, Joey "put me in my place". I need to remember to speak when spoken to. :)

We were looking for a creepy voodoo shop and found it here! They had voodoo music thumping in the backround with an "altar" of candles. We purchased our first voodoo doll to take with us back to NY. We plan on leaving it out, so when our friends see it they'll be freaked out/uncomfortable. (Our doll stand for happiness, but they don't have to know that...)

This is my favorite picture from the day. A different view of the typical street performers by Jackson Square.

Oh, and I heard in the grapevine that Joey is not bold....
