Celebratory weekend

This weekend, we had quite the guest list visiting. The usual suspects plus Jeffrey bean, Sasha Fierce, and Father Whitney. We got to see two Broadway plays, August Osage County and In the Heights. We went to some really cool bars and restaurants, my favorites being last night's Buddha bar and this place called Spice Market.

I didn't take many pictures, hoping Missuh Corene will send me some, but here are the ones I did get from Spice Market.

Here's Meghan, Sasha, and Jeff- who looks a bit confused!

Father Whitney

Justin's Scottish friend Adam.

These are some without the flash. It was South Asian inspired, so the colors, lighting, and architecture was awesome.

It was also a "celebrity" weekend.

Wednesday night we saw Daniel Radcliffe signing autographs in the Theatre District. He then hopped into his black Escalade and zoomed right past us. Then, Joey and I saw Bernadette Peters with her dog standing in front of the Starbuck's that's literally 20 feet from our apartment. On Friday Ms. Nancy saw Katie Holmes with baby Suri. During our intermission for "In the Heights", Ms. Nancy brushed shoulders with Adrian Monk from the TV show "Monk" while waiting in line for a drink. He was sitting right in our little section. Then last night at the restaurant Pastis, Joey noticed a photographer (Gregory Crewdson) from a documentary we were watching on the Ovation channel. Here are some of his amazing pictures:

Then last night, John Lithgow walked into the restaurant and sat near our table. It looked like he was with maybe his wife and kids? I was super uncool and took a picture with Joey's iphone, pretending to take a picture of Joey. (He's the one with the hat and glasses on)

That's a lot of people from one weekend!

Now, we are having an official lazy sunday and taking it easy! My plan is to not leave the apartment today...

Macy's Parade

Yesterday morning, we went to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade right at 72nd and Central Park West. It was cold, packed , and really early in the morning...but worth it. :)

Here is Katee and Mark. Katee wound up spending Thanksgiving Day with us since she couldn't go home to Atlanta.

A shot of the Dakota building.

Oh no! A smurf is taking over CPW!

Here are some candids of everyone's reaction to the parade.

Not really. They were slightly exaggerated. Ms. Nancy and Ms. Corene, I was going to post yall's shots, but figured the repercussions would not be pleasant.

Another "posed" candid, haha.

This is right before the Energizer Bunny tipped over and fell on everyone... ;)

Here's a shot of some spoiled kids in the Dakota building watching the parade pass by...

My Bronx kids!

I can't adequately express how much I love these kids! So this post is a shout out to them. :)

'New York Cares' hosts monthly arts and crafts nights and it's safe to say that I've become a regular. The kids are all so bright, sweet, and addictive. Sure, some have behavior problems, but at least there's an effort from us to try and correct it. The group leader is a Pediatrician and hosts/plans all of the events. I would think she'd be sick of kids by the end of the day, right?

I realize this post will be boring for many, but I can't resist. Sorry!

Below is my number one man, Angel. He latched unto me a few months ago and the rest was history. He is like an old man in a teeny person's body. Sharp and witty, and sooo affectionate.

Today they made Turkey puppets, and Angel's is right behind Taty's head, so it looks like she has a mohawk!

Angel and Andrea.

Here is Eric, the 10 year old who hit on me and claimed he was 15...silly.

This is Angel's sister, Nicole. Same exact disposition, just teenier! She had weird blue stuff all over her face from eating Gusher's. It was quite lovely.

Melanie. Very mature, sophisticated, and cool 14 year old. Just from talking to her you know she is going somewhere. (She plans on going to school for photography actually.)

Haha, look at Angel's face! It looks like a face Joey would make. He wouldn't smile for the pictures unfortunately. :(

But this little guy had no problem posing.

Yay Bronx kids!!! They make me so happy.
