New York Film Festival....
"A Girl Cut In Two" was the film of choice, directed by Claude Chabrol. Let me tell you a little bit about it: There's a love triangle between a weather girl, a famous married writer (who was about seventy), and a very wealthy heir. The weather girl was obsessively in love with the writer, but enjoyed the attention from the wealthy heir. Needless to say, the storyline unraveled very dysfunctionally and ended in a pretty little mess! Even though the film left me with an eery feeling, I enjoyed it so much more than "Heartbreak Kid" (which we saw the weekend before). It kept me on my toes. I feel like i can't sit through movies anymore, because they all follow the same plotline: boy/girl falls in love with girl/boy, buildup to the relationship forming, someone screws up big time causing a break up, then they wound up back together and live happily ever after. Blah. It's been done too many times. So that's why I especially liked the unordinary foreign movie and plan on going bak to the NY Film Festival next year!

Joey had his first celebrity sighting last week. He saw -drum roll please- Kyra Sedgwick. It turns out that her and Kevin Bacon live in the Upper West Side. Joey said she got off at the 59th subway stop for a transfer.

As far as me seeing celebrities, I can picture myself getting distracted by a weird homeless guy trying to eat his hand, and miss steve carrell walking right in front of me. why i think this you ask? well, when i arrived at work on sunday, i went to put my purse in the back room, right? then when i return outside, this girl i work with nonchalantly says, "oh, you just missed it. jennifer garner was standing right outside the window and a bunch of people were taking her picture." and you couldn't have poked your head in the back to tell me this because??? oh, and kelly ripa came into the store on my off day last week. quite unbelievable. but apparently the upper west side is swarming with them. people i work with have seen bruce willis, chris rock, and jack black just walking down the street. one day...
joey's birthday is this weekend. i hope my plans will make his birthday a happy one. i think i built them up too much...but we'll see.
we had louisiana weather today, warm and muggy. yuck!
i would like to congratulate jennifer creel-romano, on behalf of being the most avid reader from our "fanbase". jen, your dedication is an inspiration to us all. haha!

until next time, ciao!
