The triathlon that Joey has been training for is this weekend. He'll be doing a 500 meter swim, 11 mile bike ride, and a 3 mile run. We leave for Jersey tomorrow and will be staying at his friend Nikki's parents house (since she's doing the race also).
I'll be bringing my camera and taking lot's of pictures.
I was trying to plan a surprise "you're awesome" party....but the details of it were making me crazy. So I planned a dinner with friend at the Boat Basin Cafe at sunset. Should be nice!

All of the girls in Soho ride around on these bikes in their dainty little sundresses. It's so cute! (and yes that's Audrey)
So every weekend, thousands of New Yorkers flee to the Hampton's or some other beach in the area to get away. Meanwhile thousands of tourists flee to the city to bother people like Melissa. So Joey and I have decided it's time for our turn! His friend Nikki's parents have a beach house at Bradley Beach, NJ that we may have a 90% chance of getting invited to. I can't wait to feel sand between my toes and hear the sound of ocean waves. And don't get me wrong, I'm not expecting Maui or anything. I am just a low maintenace city girl who needs the basics of a summer day. Sand. Sun. Ocean water. And of course the tan that results from all of these things never hurts either.
Tals, if you still read this blog then you will respond.
So I was in SoHo this afternoon. About to cross the intersection of Spring St. and Broadway when I look across the street and notice a familiar face. A Louisiana face. An Andrew Beasley face. I make eye contact with him and mouth "Andrew Beasley?" to him. And it was him! I freaked! I mean, I never run into anyone on the streets. And to run into a guy that Joey and I used to work with at Blue Bayou back in 2004? So, my reaction was pure hyperness. Meanwhile, Beasley's reaction? "Oh hey. How've ya' been?" He had not changed a bit. He would do the same thing when I would run into him at LSU. I told him, you do realize that we are bumping into one another in Soho in freaking New York City? Crazy kid!
Here is a picture from our Blue Bayou days...

One of my favorite people in the whole wide world came to visit this weekend...Jessica :)
We worked together at the Mall of La and would always find the most ridiculous people to mock....or rather they would always seem to find us? Also, we talk redneck. It's what we do. Joey included. When you put the three of us in a room we could literally amuse ourselves for hours with redneck jibberish.
Anyways, after a night of stalkerish calls from me and Beth begging her to come visit- she did! The weather was kind of yucky, but we still managed to see a good bit. We went to the met, financial district, around our neighborhood, a crazy indian club, and central park!
The Met: We went to the South Asian section of the museum, which was a section I had never been to before. Jessica and Beth especially enjoyed it since they studied abroad together in India.

Even though Joey came out blurry, it's my favorite picture of them. They are just so funny together...she will usually give him this look after he says something ridiculous.

Sunday was Jessica's last day in the city, so we cooked spaghetti and banana pudding for our friends. Joey's friend Katee showed up, along with my friend Freddy, Beth, and Jessica. Look at our apartment how clean :)

We were such great hosts that we even had activities for after dinner....scene it! I suck at that game because I am the worst when it comes to remembering random things from movies.

Preceded by a game of Poker. It was Freddy's first time playing, and he beat everyone in the last hand almost everytime without even knowing it.

As we were going to the grocery, I found this pot on the side of the street for trash pickup! So I scooped it up and brought it home. It's so pretty!
For the 4th of July, we went to Elizabeth's boyfriend's place in Long Island. It was the prettiest house I'd ever been to. They have a tennis court, pool, barn for horses, and birds chirping. It was super peaceful....so it was perfect!

And they even had a Great Dane! She was so sweet!
Jessica, my friend from Louisiana is visiting this weekend!
Tonight we are going to an Indian dance place....which should be interesting.
I'll be sure to post fun pictures later.
:)
