buuurrrttday night

I love Shake Shak! I got my cheeseburger with a grape soda and it was great. But I then needed to finish it off with something sweet.... so we then headed over to Magnolia Bakery for some chocolate cupcakes. Oh, so healthy!

Freddy and Elizabeth-
Joey linking arms with Freddy and Elizabeth. Such a sweet boy, haha.

This is where it gets interesting. Freddy tried to pick up Joey by letting him lay on his arms...nah, didn't work very well.

This execution style was much more successful! Hahaha...

Beth taking a bite at my Magnolia Bakery box. You can't really see it, but under my jacket is my new Led Zeppelin shirt that Joey gave me. It's sooooooo cool!!!

Flowers that Beth brought over that were so pretty! There is something about getting fresh flowers from a NY flower stand that is so, well, New Yorkish. It's like they can be a dainty accessory while walking around the city.

Yay for awesome NY friends!

It's a tough life...

but someone's gotta do it.

Lucy still sleeps sprawled out on her back like a person. When she realized I was taking a picture, she crossed her legs like a little lady.

Here's a few cool pictures from the park today.

No more leaves on the trees :(

I was looking at the lake, and realized there were no moving ripples in the water. Well, it was frozen!

Oh, and uber thanks to all of the cards, calls, and presents for my birfday!!! I feel so loved. *sigh*

Tonight, I am going to the Shake Shak for cheeseburgers and grape soda with my friends. Then later in the week is Mexican night with Joey's/my friends.

PS- I'm 25. God, that's getting old. A quarter of a century old!!!!!

Something fishy is going on....

It's a winter wonderland in New Orleans right now, while here in NY it's rainy, cold, and ugly!!!

I stole these images from Nola.com. I so wish I was there to see this and get pictures of my own!

Christmas time in the apartment.

This past weekend, we got our "Charlie Brown" Christmas tree and decorated the apartment. Unfortunately our ornament collection shrunk from Lucy using them as prey last year. But nonetheless, our apartment officially feels and smells like Christmas.

We decided to have a "real" Christmas at the apartment this year, with presents wrapped under the tree and stocking stuffers. So our NY Christmas date is December 18, the day before we leave for Louisiana. :)

Don't you love our Christmas Angel? Did you expect any different with a Joey Sylvester in the apartment?

Lucy has been on the naughty list this year. So we'll see what she gets. Maybe an appointment with a cat psychologist...

So obviously in NY you see some pretty bizarre people on a daily basis. That's a given. What's strange to me is when you re-encounter them on a different day in a different part of the city. This has happened to me a few times in the past, and happened again today.

Remember this guy?

I saw this crazy clown man with his spray painted poodle in Central Park when I was with Ella about 2 months ago. Today, I was walking out of an FIT building in Chelsea and noticed the same spray painted dog in a baby stroller being pushed by the same crazy, high on "life", clown man. Haha! I just shook my head and laughed.

White Elephant Party

So last night was our party!

Katee got really into it and started getting vicious with stealing gifts from people who stole her beloved mixer. That's a sign of a successful White Elephant party, when someone gets genuinely resentful/bitter. The present that I supplied was a toilet seat!! Ian was debating between picking Blaine's present, which were the Obama Rama Magnets, or mine. I pleaded that he take mine, and he did!

It was soooo funny. Most of the presents were really good, like Burt's Bee sets, cigars, 'the office' stuff...so the toilet seat was unexpected. Ian is super excited about the embroidered lid and the cushioned seat. He proudly carried it home on the subway without a bag and plans on saving it for when his mom comes in town. She'll be so impressed, haha.

Here is the Saints hoop that Joey got. This was from Megha obviously. She bought it from the "Black & Gold" store on Veterans over the Thanksgiving break. Crazy!

I loooove my present. Obama Rama magnets with interchangeable outfits/accessories. Here are some shots of our fridge:

Voodoo shops?

So, I just thought of an awesome gift for the white elephant party. A Voodoo doll!! How great/weird would that be?

Unfortunately google gave me nothing when I entered, "Voodoo shops NYC". Maybe next year...

I am on top of things this Christmas season. I've either ordered all of my presents online already or know exactly what I'm getting people. Yahoo!

Oh yeah, it might snow on Sunday!! :)

Trading Cards

So this Sunday, Joey and I are throwing a White Elephant/Yankee Swap party! I have a few ideas for presents...but I'll save that for later.

As a party favor, I'm will finally give everyone their official kickball trading cards! Here are a few:

And this will be the back of the cards for Team Usa:

Pure silliness!
