Houston, we have a problem.

It's too cold!!!!

There was a high of 41 degrees today, which is abnormally low for this time of the year. I heard on the news the high for this time of the year is supposed to be 58 degrees. Snow flurries were spotted in Manhattan, and on Friday a light snowfall is predicted.

Lucy Goosey has begun to prepare:

On a delayed side note...Election night....

We went up to the "New Village Pourhouse" in lower Harlem to watch history in the making baby.

We couldn't have picked a better place or group of people to share the experience with, it was a night that I will never forget. The energy and emotions that filled the room was just electric. People were crying, laughing, or just plain screaming.

Right before this picture was taken, Freddy whispered to Joey, "don't smile". Joey pretended to go along with it, but it backfired on Freddy. Hehe.

Beth's pin said, "west siders 4 Obama/Biden".

Ian's LSU friend, who's awesome!

Saints Victory!

Today we went over to Bar None to watch the game with fellow Saints fans! The place is just so surreal, everyone decked out in Saints gear dancing to "when the saints go marchin' in" in the middle of Manhattan. Love it! During half time, we walked over to Popeye's to make it a real Nawlin's experience. It was soooooooo good.

Everyone shakin' the white napkins when second line band music came on.

I took these while I was out with my little dachsund friend Ella today. New York's been having some pretty gloomy weather, and all of the winds are blowing the pretty leaves right off the trees. :(

The boathouse.

Bethesda Terrace, "Angel of Waters".

It was pretty chilly, so Ella was wearing her coat. :) While I was taking this picture, people kept ooo'ing and ahhh'ing over her. She is such a hit and so knows it.

Since Ella is so well behaved, I let her walk right next to me in the park with her leash dragging. Well, today we were walking past these loud, rollerblading street entertainers and this crazy looking poodle walked up to her. Then her equally crazy looking owner came to get her. He saw my camera and squealed, "Take a picture of us!!" Sure! Haha.

Then we walked by the 'Tavern on the Green', (this is where they kept the sheep from Sheep's Meadow back in the day) and they had the most beautiful lights and lanterns out for the holidays. I thought the contrast of the blue lights with the purplish sky was too pretty to pass up!

So folks, I've saved the best for last. Megha, Puma, Bethany, Joey, and myself have made a pact to go the first Saint's game of the season next year. I can't wait. Megha's the biggest Saint's fan and has never been to a NFL game. Bless her heart. So...I think we should dress up and get on TV. Since Joey refuses to do it, I am going to be a Saints banana and I want Megha to wear her referee costume. Hehehehe!

Portfolio Critique.

To catch a few of you up to speed, I went over to the "National Portfolio Review Day" at Pratt Institute. After waiting in line for a total of almost two and a half hours, I got a free portfolio review from an FIT representative. I had a total of about 20-25 pictures in there, and left feeling confident about maybe 5 of them! There were about 4 that he told to just delete. The other 10 were okay, but clearly not what they are looking for. The overall advice was to pick a centralized theme, work around it, and keep it simple.

He really liked these:

Especially this one, the colors and simplicity. I think it's going to be my inspiration for future pictures.

And did not like these.

So overall, I know what to expect when it comes time for my real portfolio review. I'm glad I went!

Brother's Married!

So here are some pictures from last weekend. Brother's married and little sister is going to college next year. *sigh*

I wish Joey bean's schedule for school wasn't so crazy so he could have gone with me :( But he would have left on a Friday to fly into New Orleans, to drive for 5 hours into Florida, to then drive back on Sunday and fly back to NY. Not to mention he is about to spontaneously combust with all of the projects with clients, papers, and exams he has swarming around him. Sounds like fun, right?

Anywho, here are the lovely pictures. The weather couldn't have been more perfect on Saturday!

This is officially my dad's debut to the blog:

Maw Maw Scheibe! She was in a very silly mood last weekend. She wanted to stop at Hooter's, but realized she left her orange shorts at home. She claimed the photographer was taking pictures of her butt. Then she purposely asked stupid questions with smirks on her face wondering if we would take her seriously.

So I complained to my mom and Sonta how I went to Florida with no bathing suit, shorts, or suncreen cause I thought it was going to be cold. Let's just say I came out for our stroll on the beach like this, and they were puzzled. (I raided Alli's suitcase)

"Darling, would you go fetch me my afternoon tea?" ...in an Audrey Hepburn manner

Here's where we stayed! ...kidding! Looks like a house that got some hurricane damage with curtains still intact.

Me and Sonta!

So this is where it gets silly. Alli and I danced the night away. This is us singing and dancing to a cheesy Celine Dion song.

8th grade style.

The Serio ladies.

High fives and patty cake. My favorite combo for ghetto songs...haha

We even got Sonta to dance to the Usher "Yeah" song. Hehe!

"Scuse me mam', please check the attitude at the door before entering the premises."

This character is Chris Buffa. This guy went out of his way to deplete my self esteem as a teenager. (hope you're readin' this Buffa!) He picked on me for loving NSYNC, not having a boyfriend, and always being too good by staying home on Friday nights. It was all "in good fun"....according to him. Haha. No hard feelings though. This is him high fiving me for my matured musical taste (Beatles & Zeppelin) and admitting that NSYNC really did indeed suck!

This is my "hooray for life" picture!

I had forgotten just how pretty Florida beaches with clear water and white sand. We used to use our timeshare and go relax for a week...aahhh!

I'm about to leave for a "National Portfolio Day" at Pratt University over in Brookyn. Wish me luck!

:)
