Happy Birthday Joey!

So the big surprise for Joey's birthday was.....tickets to see Conan!!!

Joey was surprised, and the taping was just surreal. The studio is really small, so we were literally a few feet away from Conan when he was in the audience. He came out before the show and talked to the audience. He danced with one guy, which was pretty hilarious-I think he really enjoys embarassing his audience members. The guests were Josh Hartnett (I would draw hearts next to his name if I could...), Jack McBrayer from 30Rock, and some music group. The Max Weinburg band was just phenomenal, much better in person. Joey was really excited because the bass player got a solo. Our seats were in the front row, right in front of Conan's desk. Joey and I both noticed Jack McBrayer staring our way when the musical guest was performing. It was really strange and exciting! Joey did't see this one, but Josh Hartnett blew me a kiss and winked at me. Tee hee.

Oh, and Jerry Springer was sitting in the back of the audience for one of Conan's random skits. Hilarious. After we left, we had dinner at the official soup kitchen from Seinfeld, which was fun. Afterwards we walked around Rockefellar Center. We took some interesting pictures.

Take a look:

It was obviously raining, and this was before we went to the show.

This was right after we got out of the show.

This is what you see when you leave NBC. The St. Patrick's Cathedral...which is the most beautful church I've been in.

It was so cloudy, the Rockelfellar plaza just disappears...

We stopped at a Nintendo store and got to play the Wii.
Then we ended the night at Cafe' Edgar's. It's where Edgar Allen Poe used to live, and they tried to preserve the old feel in the building. It's cozy and they have the best cheesecake!

So, the day was a successful one!

Last night Joey had me join his NYU clan to some bars in Greenwich. It was a lot of fun, all of the people are so funny. One girl went to Tulane for undergrad, and was listing names of people she knew from Lutheran High. How weird, huh?

Well tomorrow is Joey's actual birthday, and his mom hooked us up with reservations to Balthazar's, which we are both really excited about.

That's all for now...

:)
