Una noche Mexicana!

Last week Megha told me that she was going to plan a birthday dinner for me, and last night was the night. We went to Cab Caliente and had muy bueno food and margaritas! For those that don't know, Megha is such an awesome/funny person! Absolutely adore her...

She shared a story that I'm still laughing about (you may or may not find it as funny), but here it is:
Apparently she was always in trouble as a kid. Her family was on the opposite side of the spectrum. She described her parents as being these adorable Indian people with high morals and a calm disposition, so they would often get frustrated with her. Well, she got home from school one day and was greeted by her parents waiting for her at the kitchen table. They said, "Megha, do you have anything you need to tell us?" She paused, and was thinking of countless things that she was guilty of. She didn't want to openly confess about any of them, because her confession could have been worse than the issue her parents had. So she played it safe and said "no!" Her mom, decked out in her lab coat, says in a cute Indian accent, "Megha, I found this letter in your room." She then preceded to read the letter to Megha which was basically talking about drugs and terrrible things. Megha realized that what she was reading was lyrics to a Ludacris song called "Roll out". So she interrupted her mom and said no, that's "Ludacris!", meaning the rapper. Her mom says "no, that's not Ludacris, that's ridiculous!! What is in your bag! Are you a drug dealer?!!!" Hahaha. She may have been bad, but not that bad!

Anyways, back to the party. Here is Megha and Blaine.

Steve (my awesome co-captain from Team Usa), Nikki, and Megha.

Just when I thought the night couldn't get any better, Ian announced that he had brought me a present. And what was it? A Plunger!!!!!!!! Hahahahaha!!!! I was dying laughing. For those who don't know, my gift for the White Elephant Party was a toilet seat, which good ol' Ian wound up with. So a plunger was just so awesome/appropriate. He asked the people at the hardware store if he could have a gift receipt or gift wrapping, but was declined.

Ian's face!Hehehe!

Ian was mostly excited about the subway ride home with the beloved plunger. We got a few strange looks, which made it that much better!

Joey noticed that the bottom of Megha's coat looked like a weird coat tail. Well, she realized that she only had one arm through the jacket underneath her coat. So the other arm was hanging out of her coat. :) Hehe.

By the way, it was snowing last night. Walking through the West Village with the snow pouring down was so beautiful. I would have taken a picture, but I was too cold to reach into my purse to get my camera! Next time though :)

How fun! Mexican food, margaritas, a plunger, snow in NYC, and good friends. Can it get any better than that?

Happy Birthday!
